Outdoor Concerts

Salt Lake is a fabulous place to be in the summer.  After moving here, we thought winter would be our favorite time of year with all of the snow, mountains, and winter sports - but I'm starting to love summer even more.  We've really been enjoying the warm (non-humid) weather.  There are 4 or 5 venues that have outdoor concerts on a weekly basis and we've gotten tickets to several already.  The city even hosts free concerts downtown from July to September.
Last night we went to our first Red Butte Garden concert. We had a great time with good food, great friends, nice music, and an incredible mountainous backdrop.

Peyton

Peyton is growing everyday and learning new tricks.  She will already sit when told and is doing pretty well on a leash.  We are still working on house training, but overall she's a fast learner.

David hasn't worked this month, but starts night float next week so I've taken off tomorrow and we are planning a fun filled weekend.  Thinking of driving to Yellowstone or Jackson Hole, WY -- not sure yet!

Family Visit

We had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend --  mostly because my parents and niece came to visit.  We showed them all around SLC and Park City, spent lots of time playing, and took Maggie up in the mountains to play in the snow - which she loved because it was warm outside.

Funny Face
A little help on the monkey bars - she needed "David's Help - not anyone elses"

We went out to breakfast at Ruth's Diner and then headed on into the mountains in Park City

We also visited the Great Salt Lake Marina

David and my dad also went Fly Fishing...

While my mom and I took Maggie to the Children's Museum
She had so much fun that we could hardly get her to leave.  She even called me recently to ask if she could come back to visit Utah and go to the Children's Museum again.

I'm so glad that my parents finally made the trip out west and can't wait for the whole family to come.  It has been hard moving so far from home, but still exciting to explore new parts of the country.

Meet Our First Child

Thats right - David and I got a puppy.  After much deliberation we named her Peyton - you can probably guess who's idea this was given my husbands obsession with University of Tennessee Sports.
She's an adorable chocolate lab/ golden retriever mix that we have already fallen in love with. Look at this face - How could you not just melt?

In only a few days, we've already had many adventures...

Her first bath...
She wasn't too happy about it.

Her first night home...

First Visit to the Park down the street from our house -- I'm sure we will visit it often with her

Baby Shower

My best friend in SLC is having a baby very soon.  I am so excited for her and her husband and can't wait to meet the little guy.  In honor of sweet Emily, I hosted a baby shower here in Utah. We had a great time visiting, eating, and watching Emily open presents.
