What We've Been Up To

With loads of Springtime fever we had some fun in May.  Our friends threw a Cinco de Mayo party complete with pinata and all.

The boys...
James sported a festive mustache for the night and Lon some sort of wig.
The Beebe's (who are moving to Utah in June for his residency) spent a week with us and were able to hang out and meet some of the ortho crew while they looked for a place to live.
While they were in town we had a Friday Funday with putt putt, go karts, batting cages, and games with the Beckmanns.

Some tough ladies...

One Saturday night we split up like in middle school - the boys had a cookout at our house and the girls spent the night in Park City as we celebrated our time with Andrea before she moves off to Florida.

Also in May we...
Saw Sugarland in Concert

And spent an incredible weekend in Park City together to celebrate David's birthday.  Its wonderful living only 20 minutes from such a fun, beautiful place. We found an off season discount rate at the Sky Lodge  on Main Street and had a great time lounging around in our own private hot tub. This is the hotel where Oprah stayed this year when she came to the Sundance Film Festival.

Gardening

Sorry for the long lull in posting. Things have been busy for us lately.  I recently started working as a Nurse Practitioner full time and David is just finishing up his last general surgery rotation.  He unofficially has the month of June off and starts working with only orthopedic surgery cases in July. After an intern year in general surgery, he is happy to finally be working in his specialty as a 2nd year resident.  We both can't believe how fast this year has come and gone.

Since we now have a nice yard, we decided to try our hand at gardening.  We started with seedlings inside about a month ago.
We planted spinach, bell peppers, tomato, butternut squash, and broccoli.  Also we bought strawberry, blueberry, and blackberry plants.
We must have done something right, because after only a week they looked like this...
A week later...
Once the weather completely warmed up we tilled up an area beside our house...
David was quite the handy man
And here is our garden now...
