Visitors Galore

July was filled with visitors - literally every week except one we had family staying with us.  And Barton moved to Utah for residency!
First off, my twin/cousin, Catherine, came to SLC for a week during the beginning of July. We jam packed lots of activities into her week long stay including lunch dates, decorating, throwing a Fourth of July party, laying out by the pool, running and hiking in the mountains, watching fireworks, shopping, and relaxing in the rocking chairs at our house with some sweet tea and  good books.
Fortunately I had  lots of time off while she was here with being off for the holiday and working 4 days a week.
Catherine has just returned from Austria where she  chaperoned 4 children as they attended a peace camp. Soon she'll be back in NYC to start her 4th year as a teacher.

The night before our party we decorated the back yard

The next morning after clean up we went to Immigration Canyon to have breakfast at one of our most favorite local breakfast places - Ruth's Diner.

While waiting for a table we went to a great overlook down the road.

That afternoon we went on a hike before getting ready to go to Park City.

Sunday night we went to Park City for the annual free concert and fireworks show at the Canyons Resort.  We packed a picnic, took some wine and had a great time with friends surrounded by mountains.

On Monday, the actual 4th of July we slept in,went for a long run around town, then met up with some friends and walked down to my neighborhoods 4th of July street festival.

That night we went to a friends house for another BBQ and then came home to sit in our rocking chairs, drink our sweet tea, and watch the fireworks.

I was so sad to see Catherine leave.  I can't wait for her next visit.
